Insidious – The Last Key. This was a terrible movie. A really terrible movie.
I couldn’t really tell, what the story is supposed to be about. It’s one and a half hours of nothing but jump scares, and to be frank, too few and far between, and not related to the moment jump scares. On average, you have to watch Elise walk around with some sort of flashlight for about 10 minutes before there’s a jump scare associated with a blood curdling scream, more than anything visual.
Everybody seems completely taken by Lynn Shaye, the person who play’s Elise’s character, the woman who can see the ghosts. Everybody is raving about her performance. “She really carried the movie.” Well she’s the main character and is in about 80% of the frames. Does that automatically mean she carried the movie? She carried nothing. Nobody carried anything. The performances by everybody stunk to high hell.
Let’s talk about the directing. The director is supposed to be the storyteller. There are all sorts of flirtations going on between grown men, Elise’s sidekicks, and teenage girls. And it’s supposed to be funny? This is the story the director decided to tell?
Then there is a scene where somebody calls Elise in the middle of the night to talk about her ghost problem. Her problem was obviously so pressing that she calls Elise in the middle of the night. She even apologizes for calling so late. Yet there is no urgency in her voice. Her tone is as calm as the waters on Lake Placid. It made me wonder if anybody was directing this movie at all.
You’d think that the words, “the last key,” in the title, would be of some significance, to the story or the franchise. If you find out how the title is related to the movie, call me and let me know.
This movie is a 3 out of 10. And I’m being generous.
doesn't the bad spirit or whatever have key fingers?

Haha! Good point. But there's no reason to believe that the key finger/s is "the last key." The last key to what? That's what I was thinking. Thanks for watching.
