Life has not been the same since the emphatic "CHANGE" rock this country leaving behind some skeletons as evidential resume. The price of things are at it highest rate. Boys this days are afraid of becoming men. The high expectations of this eventual livelihood of becoming a father, maybe is the real cost of their long-stay as bachelor.
I m also disturbed. My head is completely soak with sweat due to the scorching heat of the terrible sun. The sun is also angry at this circumstance. Maybe the galaxy are not in total agreement with the affairs of things in my country. Nigeria was great then in the early 1990s. This prove was probably read to us as history lessons and so therefore, it's just a personal opinion and not fact.
As a young man in its twenties, my motives in life lies solely in my dreams. This particular aspect is the most depressing and not compromise stage in in every youths life circle system. There was a time I did dream of becoming a Reverend Father but as times moved on my perception changed. I began to seeing life more in romantic and emotional way. What is life if not for sex and pleasure, I said. Other times, I saw myself becoming the next Mandela of my dieing country but critical situations did prevent me from welcoming such ambitions.. motives like death and roting away in kirikiri prison. O!. What of the ones I recently had: being a footballer, writer, monogamist, having a baby mama, a great activist and the rest. I m such a big dreamer even bigger than Joseph himself.
This loads of dreams are contrary to the nature of my immediate surroundings. Ones dreams are only yours if one do believe and pray fervently. You must be a lenient worshipper of the church or mosque. It is a belief in Africa and the world that the spiritual beings controls the day to day happening of a man. So in a short phrase, "the pastor, your miracle" connotes the entirety of one's destiny.
This is my concern. As the sun set, our youths time and strengths are wasted. The elephant's jobs with penny pays are even at it low end.....The rich are getting richer, why the poor are at the end of the whip of the mess of the country.
I m a Nigerian and a boy with a lot of dreams parched on every hopes and pity. I still dream but this times around it has been on a desperate measure. Once the going is good, I dream better . The circumstances lies perfectly in God's hands. The sun is the only power the helms of affairs in my country can't suppress and control.
