UNICEF

UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund) an organization that helps children in need worldwide. Most of these children that are being helped are currently in Syria and broad Africa. UNICEF is a nonprofit and provides basic life necessity such as food and even access to education. Long story short UNICEF is a cool helpful organization.

Ethereum?

UNICEF has started a charity drive for Syrian children, targeting PC gamers as donators. They asked PC gamers to use their computers to mine Ethereum and donate the Ethereum to UNICEF. Through a special program that they made, it's a simple program that is already preconfigured, simple download and mine, whatever you mine is automatically sent to UNICEF, hassle free and a good cause. But the cryptocurrency community could contribute significantly more than the gaming community. People in cryptocurrency have designated rigs just for mining and have extremely powerful computers for mining.

This is the website for the mining program - https://www.chaingers.io/

WOW!

This is a genuinely good cause and a good use of cryptocurrency and computer power. Furthermore, this is extremely good publicity for cryptocurrency as a whole. So far, a total of 360 people of contributed to the cause. Totaling about 900 Euros or 1100 USD, which is about one whole Ethereum coin. UNICEF will use the donated Ethereum to give children access to water, education, and health and hygiene services.
