How do I find communities?

in noob •  3 years ago

I'm a noob to this website I really love the idea. I am a 14-year user of Reddit and I see that Steemit is similar but it seems that the suggested communities are foreign language or not very interesting. How can I find, for example, a group of users who want to speak about a specific NFL team for example? Or Cars, or video games, or cat memes etc. The things that make Reddit great I can't seem to figure out how to find these communities. Do they not exist? Also, how do I create a community? or is everything simply based on hashtags? If how do I search and subscribe to specific hashtags ? Thanks!

Hi, so I clicked on the "Explore communities" and I searched for several different things and I keep getting nothing even for generic searches like "Football"

Hi, thanks. I did that and I went through them all and I didn't see much interesting. I'm sure I'll figure it out! Thanks a lot!! I really like the platform so far I'm just learning about blockchain and decentralized internet. and I want to do what I can to help make it more popular so we can move away from the cooperation owned and corrupted internet.
