Ok så om du kjenner til teknologien CRISPER eller ikkje så så er det ein teknologi som har potensialet til å brukast til det som blir kalla "designer babys". Noko som er kjent for nokon, men langt frå alle. Men dette er ein relativ ny teknologi som det ikkje har vore så mykje snakk om før nå i dei siste åra. Det som er interessant i den samanhengen er at eg lese nå ei bok som først blei gitt ut i 1984 der dette blir referert til. Så dette er noko som då tydeligvis har vore forska på i FLEIRE år. DVS er det ein langsiktig plan å fjerna naturens prosesser?
"The Goal of science apparently is perpetuation of the physical life, which seemingly is the only life of which it is sure. Since woman is devoting more of her time to concidderation of world problems she may be gratified to learn that one scientist assures us that within the next century babies will be manufactured in laboratorys to meet any and all spesifications. Physical immortality, therefore, may be regarded as the ultimate goal of science, which can concieve of no other form of immortality. Thus the modern scientist actually seeks that same elixir of life which he ridicules the medeaval alchemist for declaring to be a reality."
I den samanhengen vil eg også legga til eit anna sitat frå boka som vise at folk har lenge vist at det såkalla "moderne samfunn" er destruktivt for menneskets betring. Dette er frå sama boka:
"However, we may well ask if what we now term practical is actually fulilling this ideal. Much of hte structure of modern cvilisation is revolting to the finer sentiments of humanity. Elbert Hubbard can hardly be censored for defining civilisation as "a device for increseing human ills; a machin for perpetuation of the weak; an ingenious contraption for spreading disease and hunger." Men and women of vision all realise that modern civilisation is doomed to collapse under weight of its own infirmities. Like the mighty Juggernaut, it is rumbeling down the hillside of time to vanish ultimately in the vale of oblivion below."
