Kim Jong un's threats of war weren't new but they were echoed by the US on twitter by the way which seems like a bad way but tensions were at an arguably all-time high and then something changed out of nowhere after Kim Jong-un announced he would send two athletes to the 2018 Olympics.

He also left the country for the first time as supreme leader to visit Xi Jinping in China and then the biggest news yet both North and South held an inter-korean summit for Kim hugged the South Korea President even stepped on South Korean soil I mean that sound like a story from the onion its a complete 360% turn of the story from non-stop missile launches to two friendly smiles and hugs in just five months for many this is completely bizarre for others its the obvious result of successful foreign policy but what looks like desperation is really just the continuation of a long-standing very rational very calculated survival strategy with a twist so what exactly is going on and how will it end?

Kim Yo-jong, the sister of Kin Jong-un joined US Vice President Mike Pence at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Despite all of the news and information collected, I believe Kim jong-en unlike his father with the only wish to destroy and show off their nuclear power, instead he want to stay in power as long as power to enjoy the wealth, luxury and safety his family now enjoy. In contracts, the whole world see Kim as an genuinely crazy supreme leader and the threats North Korea pose is unimaginable which give him the negotiation power with the US. My best guess would be someday in the future they will open border and attract more investors to grow their economy.
