Northumberland Coast, UK, Castles and Wildlife

Here are a few photos from a trip to the county of Northumberland in the UK. Northumberland has the most castles than any other county in the UK. These were mainly built to defend positions during the border wars between Anglo Britain and Scotland which ran from around 1300AD to 1500AD.

Northumberland is also famed for its seals and it's seabird colonies, indeed it is one of the UK's most important coastlines for species like the Arctic Tern and Atlantic Puffin.
