Up early, grabbing some light food before taking a taxi to the airport. The plan was getting to Yantai today, the coastal city where I worked as a teacher back in the days.

It took a while at the airport. All the waiting in line for check in and security control takes a bit more time than in Norway, just because there are so much more people in China. Alvilde, my daughter discovered what she called a selfie-box on the airport. We had to try the good old photobooth, which turned to be quite advanced with different backgounds and graphics we could add to our photo. We got some western style food as well, before taking off to Yantai.

It was great returning to Yantai. A lot had changed in 10 years, starting off with a new airport to land at. We got a taxi to the hotel and checked into a luxurious room. We dumped our things and went downtown, to the older Parksson shopping mall. The hotel staff reccomended other, newer malls, but I wanted to see Parksson again.

And it hadn't changed much. After Alvilde had played some slot-machines(?) outside we went down in the big supermarket store in the basement. Alvilde went into full shopping mode, and we spent some hours in the big store, looking at everything. She bought masks for all of her cousins.

And a purse for her aunt.

After having spent a lot of money on gifts for the people back home, we got in a taxi and went to the hotel again. We tried out the pool and ate some nice food at the Club Lounge. At least I liked the food. Alvilde was a bit sceptical like normal, but found some small dishes she thought was ok.

We also contacted some friends today, and are planning to meet up with them tomorrow.

I lived in Yantai a few years ago, totally one of my favourite Chinese cities :)

It's a nice and clean city. I prefer it to Qindao, but that might just be a matter of taste :) Thanks for commenting
