Thank you! I would say you can trust steemit for what it is, a social media platform with benefits.
Lets say steemit is closed, you don't loose any of your money because everything here is free.
So yes, you can trust steemit, only thing is be carefull about what you post so you don't get flagged. Study Steemit thorough, ask around and search online for questions you might have.

    That is so true, only thing you loose is your precious time. Did not think about that! But you have all the time in the world, right?!
