At Gisøy, which is situated all the way to the sea on the sea road between Bergen and Haugesund, lies the old trading place and the guest house, Brandasund. The name Brandasund is probably after businessman Jacob Brandt who had settled here in the middle of the 17th century.
Today, there is still a trading place here at Brandasund.
On the other side of this sea lane, at Selsøy, lies the trading place on Skjeret. A lady, Nillo at Skjeret made this place famous, and the site still names after this person and is called Nillo on the reef.
The first picture shows the Brandasund itself, while the last two photos show the place that is named after Nillo on the reef.
What a beautiful place.
