Aretha Franklin - Freeway Of Love

I have a lot of nostalgia about some good times that I was blessed with during my time – that we were blessed with, my dearest love and I – during my century, the 20th century. It was quite a ride. I wish I could tell you kids all about it. Despite all the mistakes and the foolishness and the fears, I and my dearest did some things right. There was love and joy that we made back then. There are good things and good people too that came out of it and that are here still. So I cherish some memories from back then. It was my time.

Someday and it won’t be long I’ll be heading out and no man can stop me. My Lord, the maker of heaven and earth, promises me. I wish you kids the very best of luck, I really do. I and this weirdo century of yours will part the ways and we'll see who’s gone ahead and who’s been left behind.

So give me that V-8, three-on-the-tree machine and the open eternity road. Further on down that road, kids, I’ll be seeing you.

So hop in. We’re dropping the top. Turn up the car radio! Rock on, this is how we did it.
