Note making - A secret to successsteemCreated with Sketch.

A few days back I was having a conversation with my school teacher. I'm still in touch with my school teachers and in one of the events we had a few days back, I was having a conversation about how I have grown up so far. While the conversation was happening, I had to mentally disappear or rather travel to my good old school days. I suddenly got some thoughts from the school days. I remembered some of the advises given by him during my school days.

Whether I'm following all his advises or not is a separate topic but something that I remembered was what he told about Note making. This all started during our school days. I still remember that my teachers used to say that we should be carrying our notes to all the places we go to make a note of some good points from the lectures and lessons. Though we will be having our textbooks and other study materials, it is important to carry our rough notes along with us because some points that teachers say during the sessions may not be something that we can easily find in textbooks.

We may think that this is all for studies. But one of my teachers told me that it is always good to carry a note with me to all the lectures I attend. Even if it is not something related to my academic thing. I realized that a few days back. I remembered him saying that most of the people who have been successful so far had this habit of carrying notes with them and the habit of note-making. When I was studying my 10th grade, I told my teacher that I had an absence of mind where I keep forgetting things. The advice given to me was to carry a small pocket notebook where I can make a note of all the things and plan accordingly.

I follow that pretty little habit till my college days. After mobile phones became popular, I thought I will instead use my mobile phones for note-making but unfortunately, the habit faded away from me little by little. I still remember that even till a few years back, I used to take a diary with me to any lecture sessions that I attend. Even during travel, I take my diary for note-making purposes. Some of the notes that I have made so far stay concrete not just in the diary that I used to have but also in my brain. That is one little awesome thing that I have experienced personally.

There is no wonder that successful people would have had a note making habit because keeping notes make them focus more on their activities and innovations instead of worrying so much about remembering things. We have no forced necessity to remember everything that we hear. Some things can be really helpful and important in our life. Those things can go into our notes and when we get a chance to review the notes that we made, it straight away goes to our head and is never cleared. I have personally experienced that and I would recommend this good habit to students as well.

Even in my work environment after everything became digital, I have been using One Note from Microsoft for taking notes and maintaining notes. Though most of the items stay in my brain, I still prefer keeping notes because we will not end up regretting in the future if at all we forget something. There will always be notes somewhere for us to revisit and remember.

I still use (physical)notes to write down my daily plan as I log-in for the the day. It is easy to remember when you write down the things, ofcourse easy to track too. I follow the same for to-do tasks, grocery list etc.

Sometimes I use OneNote and Evernote but they can't beat the joy of writing down the things in a diary/notebook.

Yes quite true. Physical notes are always the best option and the virtual notes cannot fully replace them.
