Appointed to PEC of the recall, the proposal of Senator Antonio Carlos Valadares (PSB / SE) goes now to the plenary, where it will be discussed and voted on in two shifts. If approved, the text still has to follow for the Chamber of Deputies. In the CCJ, the PEC that allows the revocation of the president's mandate was unanimously approved.
According to the text, it will be possible to revoke the mandate of a president of the Republic if at least 10% of the voters who attended the last election agree to this. In addition, of this universe of 10% it is necessary that 5% of the voters are present referring to at least 14 units of the federation, the majority of the total.
Still according to the text, when there is a proposal of revocation, it should be evaluated by the House and the Senate, successively and separately. After that, in order to be approved, it will require the favorable vote of the absolute majority of the members of each of the Houses. Once the approval is approved, a popular referendum will be called to ratify or reject the measure.
After all these steps, if a revocation is actually approved, the vice president of the Republic will assume the position. Also by the approved text, the proposal of revocation during the first and last year of government and the appreciation of more than one proposal of recall is prohibited.
