I have always been amazed by the people I meet in the Steemit community. Our community encompasses a wide range of:
- knowledge
- life experience
- culture/languages
- world views
- and perspectives
It will not take you long to find someone who is completely different than you. I want to celebrate these differences, and invite you to do the same.

- A Global Community - We come from many nations, but traditional geo-political boundaries can not restrict how we interact with each other.
- Strengthened by Our Differing Worldviews and Perspectives - We choose to engage in civil discussion even when we disagree based on personal, cultural, political, or religious differences.
- A Source of Information - Our collective knowledge and life experience is both an opportunity to learn and teach. We choose to do both.
- People Focused - Steemit.com and STEEM may have brought us together, but our relationships with each other will keep us together.
How To Join The Movement!
- Write posts about people in your Steemit community that are not like you.
- Explain why this person is important to you. Celebrate your differences and similarities.
- Explain how he or she adds value to our community.
- Use the #notlikeme hashtag.
- Please limit one person per post. This way you can be sure to celebrate that person well.
- Join the Not Like Me Discord Channel and share your posts that contain the #notlikeme hashtag.
- Support other Steemit community members who use the #notlikeme hashtag.

This is a great idea and I hope the movement picks up "steem", I'll have to think about who I can write about.
The STEEM Engine is quite wonderfully a very diverse community and so many of them are #notlikeme which is why it's such a great community to belong to.
But makes it hard to single out just one :)

Steemit is a very diversified place, and becoming more so all the time. I read many posts from people from areas where the few SBD they get here actually makes the world of difference to their livelihood and standard of living. To me this is exciting. New cultures, and ways of looking and thinking - all these things make Steemit great. Best of luck with this endeavour.
