Our Canadian Maritime Vacation - Part 2 - Includes Oak Island

in nova •  5 years ago  (edited)

After our visit to Prince Edward Island, we headed to Nova Scotia. We stayed in Hubbards near Halifax. The first evening there we visited Peggy's Cove.

I would strongly recommend you visit there, it is breathtaking.

The next day we went to Oak Island, the sight of the History Channel show, The Curse of Oak Island. I have been following the show for several years and wanted to investigate. They host tours of the Island, however little did I know that they sold out in March. We were able to go to the Visitor Center and see the artifacts discovered thus far and the history of the island.

The workers at the Visitor Center were nice and they said no filming takes place on weekends since the tours are held then. I was hoping to see someone from the show but didnt. However, it was enjoyable to be rhere.

It was a fun visit and I would advise those wanting to get tickets for the tour to get tickets early, probably the same say they go on sale.

Finally we visited historic Lunenburg, a beautiful seaside village with much history.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
