Now Playing Week 6 Entry: John Lennon - “Whatever Gets You Thru The Night”

Hi Everyone!

For this week's @nowplaying-music submission, I've chosen John Lennon's #1 US single (his only one in his lifetime), “Whatever Gets You Thru The Night.”

He recorded the song with Elton John for his Walls And Bridges album during sessions in the summer of 1974. Losing a bet with with Elton John that it would be a hit, John Lennon agreed to appear onstage with Elton to perform the song during a show over the Thanksgiving weekend at MSG in New York.
