Its playtime! That is what I think when I attend live modeling sessions.
Media: some watercolors, mechanical pencil, 1 black Sharpie, a variety of Copic pens, 3'sketch books.
The model starts with warm up poses, I think they are a couple minutes long. I got there late- I was setting up and trying to sketch, so some of these arnt even that long.
I love quick gesture drawings. Holding a pose for an hour presents difficulties, even seated. Holding for a minute or two allows more versatility, depending on the model. Then, If the drawing isnt going well youre soon moving on. And this model was amazing. Creative poses, and angles. Fearless even!
Next was a 1 hour standing pose. I wanted to do large sweeping gestures, but my largest book was 9 by 12 inches. After doing a couple quick gestures, I decided the best course of action was not confined myself too much by cropping the figure
Honestly, I wasnt too keen on the 1hr standing after all those beautifuly angled poses, I was much more excited for the next pose. (Standing long pose is fairly taxing for the model, so it had to be pretty basic)
Reclining, and dinamic shadowing on her feet, which I could see the bottoms of. Ive been upping my foot and hand game for a couple years, sick of how intimidating to render they are. And time consuming. This ment hours and hours on one hand. I wish I'd timed some of them, but its not what you think of in the agrivating moment(s) hehe.

This was an hour long pose as well. Unfortunately I had some imminent things to take care of & I lost about 20 min to email and phone calls. Then when I was distracted (thinking about unmentioned issue) I wooshed the brush up the quadriceps, smearing the wet work. Blast. Still it was a very inspiring pose. I may even have enough sketch notes and confidence to attempt working it out later.
Sigh I know youre disapointed, like I am, about the feet too. They do not look dinamic in this rendition.
Gogo gadget photographic memory!!
