Landscape Photography CO Lima Hi Way

in ntopaz •  6 years ago

ntopaz-image-0Hello, Wonderful these little contests. I love seeing all the photographs from around the world from other photographers. Here is my entry, “Lima Hi Way.”

https://steemit.com/ntopaz/@axeman/ntopaz-landscape-photography-contest-reminder

I was in Peru, sitting on a bus, while being driven down Lima Hi Way. I had the seat next to the window. I was watching the ever-changing landscape out of my window and observing the most unusual sites. As we drove, the sky began to fill with sand, it was almost creamy outside; there was a sand storm of such. Not only was that effect weird enough to see with the sky like that and all, but also the very pastel mono-cropping of trees, in a complete desert dune like terrain…it was most strange to say the least. The colors worked well together I was thinking…As long as I looked out the window, my entire visual field looked as depicted as such in this photograph.

I obviously had to capture such a momentous occasion, so I grabbed my
“Sony DCR-HC96 MiniDV 3.3MP Digital Handycam Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom” camera and took a still. I had no idea how it was going to turn out as I just got it 2 days before I left for Peru, so it was a learning gig in process…I didn’t do anything, just aimed and shot…..I was impressed with this photo because it really depicts the landscape…..it was pastel and creamy and blurred, not only from the sand storm, but the traveling speed of the bus. All I saw was this; a real weird grid pattern of mono-trees rooted on a slanted plain of sand…..just that…oh and cream colored sky. It was awesome. So, I am entering this landscape photograph, “Lima Hi Way,” just because it is strange, but true….

I did not do much to this photograph at all. I enhanced the color a bit, not much, and just a tad of sharpen; I did not want to take away from the blur and smooth creamy effect of the original photograph.

Thank you for the opportunity allowing for photographers to share their work. Cheers, Colette

Very interesting view from quite above and unusual patterns made by tree rows. Pity the quality is a bit on a lower level, but counting that shot from a moving bus it is still fantastic :)

Hey there, yeah, way weird to me. I could have sharpened it a bit more and contrasted it, but it lost the creamy flowy blur of it when I did, and I think that is what was so cosmic about the scene.....but, I was lucky as you say just to get it from a moving bus window. Cheers....

interesting shot!

Hello Mentor....:) Yes, I think it does look like art and not a photograph. I am on Discord, or I was....it was to prove I was me because I got accused of plagiarizing myself:) Ok about Discord....I'll check into that. I will contact you tomorrow...I'm a bit mentally tired now as I just wrote a piece on my friend who passed. It is his birthday today, he was an Astronomer. Cheers Mentor !!! and thank you oh so much. Colette

I'm sorry to hear that 😔

So much death lately.

Sleep well, sweet dreeeeeeems

This is a lovely photo, and I so loved reading the story that goes with it! Pictures may be "worth a thousand words," but back-stories give them so much life (most of the time, as there are exceptions when too much is said, but one can identify those easily).

It was nice "meeting" you on TheRamble discord server a while ago, and I do hope you will be a regular PYPT attendee! 😊

It was fun for me....I can't speak too well, hard for me. I will hook up mic next time so I don't have to strain, will be better on every one's ears. You all were kind to me when I went off on tangents....(my brain does that - sorry)...I'm sure you and @dreemsteem @bluefinstudios & others will keep me in check when I 'ramble' on...I'm looking forward to learning and meeting people and I thank all of you for your patience.

That is such a interesting shot and the trees looks so cool 😉 really enjoyed reading this.
