Traditional Ukrainian doll faceless. She has no eyes, no nose, no mouth. Why? Because a doll without a face was considered an inanimate object, inaccessible to the instilling of evil, evil forces in it, and therefore harmless to the child and its bearer.
Children often played with such dolls. Having possessed the doll, the demon was able to influence the child who played with it. As a result, an innocent child could get sick.
Ukrainians believed that evil spirits can infest through the eyes, so the face or did not, or made a multi-colored cross of thread.
