(Bis)

Con cariño.
Rodnell.

English

El Diablo Suelto is a piano waltz composed by the marabino musician Heraclio Fernández. It is certainly one of the pieces that puts any performer to the test.

In any instrument the technical, rhythmic and harmonic demands are great, arriving in many of these versions to make improvised passages, something that comes by the very nature of the work.

Originally El Diablo Suelto has no lyrics. The one attached here is written by Henrique Hidalgo, and the canta Gualberto Ibarreto:

Lyrics

Pick up this boy and the devil is loose.
and carries among his chunks Ruperto's son
Lucifer calls it Mandinga, Damien or General.
who have seen it in Carora as well as who have seen it in
San Juan. (Bis)

Take the Palma Real Cross without bacillating, start praying
grab well a fist e´ salt also holy water
and don't start shivering and whining just like that.
because the Devil's pleasure is to scare you and make you run. (Bis)

Don't think you can scare him away with Ron and Tobacco.
because that Devil likes to drink and smoke, too.
run, jump, jump, the Devil on the loose can catch you. (Bis)

With affection.
Rodnell.
