sci-fi painting Terminal 7E

This was the last and most recent of a series of "quick" digital paintings I worked on over the past few months. Finally, after beginning to get the hang of this series I chose to do one of my favourite themes, Sci-fi.

I had the basic idea in mind of skyward freeways and large reservoirs sprawling out through the artificial landscape. I begun with lots of rough shapes, blocking everything in and eventually adding highlights, trying to work out how the sun would illuminate the landscape and water ways.

I'm glad you put "quick" in quotes. I saw your "reclaimed industrial junkyard" when it got curied and you have a very distinctive style that really appeals to me. I could never do such a thing, but I am glad to see the before and after. This makes such an interesting post. I think you caught the light and shadows very well.

Thank you Sharon for the flattering comment. I have often struggled with style in the past, so I am pleased to hear that.

I think you found yours. I noticed a few other similar thumbnails. I know it is hard to see your own work :)

Wow dude this is really awesome! This is how a good landscape should look like, really like how you created the light in the painting.

Thanks mate, I appreciate the kind words.

I like that you added the human and the cat, they make a nice contrast against the modern technological utopia... or disutopia. I think this scene belongs in Halo universe XD.

Thank you! I agree, I think the cat is my favourite part.

Amazing digital painting 😊 Sci-fi is my favourite theme so I am looking forward for more 😊 😊

Thank you @georgeboya

This is an amazing 'quick' series, but I know what you mean. I often get into a series or collection of drawings and paintings and consider them quick if I work on then to completion over a shorter period of time than some of my other things. Time is relative in finishing art.

I'm so glad that @ntopaz has been giving me so many wonderful artists to follow, it's making my already great collection of fellow steemit artists grow so nicely!

You are absolutely right, some projects can take hundreds of hours over the span of weeks. This is definitely on the shorter side.

It's a great platform, I'm still new to it but I am enjoying it so far. Thanks for the kind words!

Amazing! I very like the details! Great job:)

Thank you!

Sci-fi is one of my favorite genres, in movies, novels, comics and art. well done. I'm curious about something. you say they are a series of "quick" digital paintings what do you mean with "quick" ? it took you a short time to finish?

Thanks @wisejg Most of the paintings from this series were simple and quick exercises, this painting on the other hand took quite a bit longer to finish.

oh I understand. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Woohoo! Incredible details! It is impossible not to want to enter into your artistic work!

Thank you for the kind words

What a cool landscape painting, Jeremy! Nicely done!

Thanks man!

great drawing! an open window on a futuristic landscape

Thank you @road2horizon

I like the way you presented the game of lights and illuminations, shadows and details, mixed together on the artwork which seems to be alive :) definitely not boring
you gain my upvote !

Thank you for the kind words!

Splendid piece Jeremy. Fabulous concept of skyward freeways. The large grid like areas of water add to the surrealism ~ Making us wonder what might still be living in those waters. Hopefully by this time we will have worked out that life cannot survive without clean fresh and uncontaminated water.

I also love the view of looking down ~ Only a cat would dare to walk to that point. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

Thank you Alison, You are certainly right, clean water is integral to all life. Thank you for the kind words.
