Plein Air on the Gulf of Finland

ntopaz-image-0Last weekend, together with friends and @fourapril, we went to the plein air to the Gulf of Finland.

I have long been visited by thoughts, go paint on the street. I can’t draw something from memory or from pictures from the Internet. I want to see the source material, not someone else's vision of the world.
On the coast of the Gulf of Finland, we found a suitable place and sat down to draw. Since it was the first time, I did not expect anything from myself. It was enough for me that on a piece of paper it was clear that I had painted. That would be a victory.

Here I made a sketch. The city on the horizon in the frame on the first photo did not hit, it was to the left, but because I can draw everything I like.
Sitting in the shade of trees, listening to how the seagulls scream, and the surf was incredibly pleasant, although people were constantly passing by a picnic. We also took food with us. Seaweed sandwiches and fried tofu in the open air were the best in my life! My friends are not vegan, having tried the tofu, which I cooked myself, said that it looked like a mixture of chicken and scrambled eggs. But I know that it is much tastier ;Р

The whole process of work was very slow. The only thing I understood is that the clouds are floating too fast! I leisurely drew, because I was constantly distracted by communication. We have not seen friends for a long time, so the plein air was more likely a reason to spend time together.

So, my clouds were floating away, the ships were hiding beyond the horizon, and the realism in my work was becoming less and less. In the end, I painted the sky, which an hour ago was completely different! It confused me, and the picture turned out to be blurry.

Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience. I was distracted a lot, chatted and listened to the waves. Next time I plan to go to the river near the house, there I will try my best!

Very lovely plein air drawing of the Gulf of Finland, @kurokikuro :) I really love how you are passionate about interpreting the world through your own eyes, instead off someone else's photos or drawings :D It speaks a lot to your artistic integrity and creativity to want to draw from your own experience of the world :D

The drawing is lovely, I can sense a sense of open space where we can breathe the entire sky in through our senses ! The way you did the surface of the water captures a receding perspective towards the horizon very nicely, and I love how you did the highlights of the sea, as well <3

Nice picture, @kurokikuro :) I also enjoy the step by step process and the way you accompanied the pictures with your thoughts <3

Thank you very much, @veryspider. I am very pleased that what I do unprofessionally is worthy of attention! :3
