There's s the word "Lotus" in my mother's name. This handkerchief is my birthday present for her.

When I was young, I was not good at manual work. My teacher once said decisively that I had no talent in such work, so I did not want to develop in this direction.

I was last summer when I first learned about embroidery, one of the oldest handicrafts in China. Nowadays, this craft is gradually disappeared in the long river of time since there is no heir to carry on the culture .

This is my first work, the embroidery part is not particularly smooth. I hope it can be improved in future works :D

我的妈妈名字里有「荷花」两个字，这块手帕是我做给她的生日礼物。

幼年时候的我非常不擅长做手工，老师曾经果断地说我在手工方面没有天赋，于是我也没有想往这个方向发展。直到大学得知有种名叫「十字绣」的手工做法，哼哧哼哧地大学课余时间都在玩这个。

大约是去年夏天的时候，我第一次接触到刺绣，这是中国比较古老的手工艺之一。如今，这项手艺正因为没有继承人而渐渐消失在岁月的长河中。

这是我的第一幅作品，刺绣的部分还不是特别的平整，希望在未来的作品中可以有所改进吧:D
