Terrorists have left 40 tons of chemical weapons in Syria: Russia

Russia has said that while extremist militant groups retreat from several areas in Syria, many chemical weapons manufacturing factories and more than 40 tons of chemical weapons have left.

Russia's nuclear, genetic and chemical weapons arms commander Igor Kirilov said this at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

He said, "40 tons of chemical weapons have been found in the areas recovered from militants in Syria."

He criticized international organizations not to cooperate with the Syrian government in investigating chemical attacks conducted in the last few years in various areas of Syria.

Russian army deployed in Syria late last month told Moscow that the militants controlled by East Gauta region are preparing to launch a chemical attack near the capital Damascus.

The army also said that by attacking the civilians, the militants wanting to pressure the Syrian government to take responsibility.
