Flashing VBIOS

The instructions given in this step are only valid for AMD video cards. It took me a while to find information about the NVidia firmware change and it turned out not worth it. However, be sure to seek information about your model.

The VBIOS modification is the most dangerous stage of overclocking, but it's also the most important. Without this, you won't be able to get the most out of your video cards. There are several things that a video BIOS contains information about; these include the operating frequencies, voltages and timings of the graphics core and memory. The default settings are usually set to help provide maximum performance and stability for games, but if you adopt it is preferable to change them.

To keep this article short, I won't go further into theory; let's go to practice. Flashing VBIOS includes three steps: backup, replacement and restore to device. If you're ready to take a risk, try finding a ready-made mining BIOS image. Keep in mind, though, that installing the wrong firmware can kill the card.

If your video cards have a BIOS key, your risk is significantly reduced. Even if the video card doesn't start, you can switch to the backup BIOS and restore the settings! Find a small button on the side of the board.

I suggest that we do not take risks and take all steps. Also, if your video cards are exactly the same, you can reduce losses and only make a backup copy.
