Governor Godwin Obaseki, the gubernatorial candidate, PDP of the People's Democratic Party, disclosed this in his ward to ward campaign tour via the ten wards in the local government area of Esan North East.

He said the Election was crucial not just of the state but also of the nation as a whole because it had to be determined whether the state should step forward.

Referencing the state's Edo Central Senatorial District as a sanctuary for the PDP, he encouraged party members and supporters not to yield to intimidation and threats.

He said Nigeria belongs to everybody, not just a few people.

Earlier, PDP state campaign council chairman Leader Dan Orbih had encouraged party leaders to keep a watchful eye on ensuring that votes counted in the Election.

Orbih said the party would not only encourage party supporters to vote but also ensure the counting of the votes, so the Election should be free and fair.
