Jesus and the scribe: It is more important to obey these two commandments than to offer on the altar animals and other sacrifices to God. Mark 12:33

For Jesus, the teaching of the commandments in the doctrine of the kingdom of God was very important, but not as the Pharisees and the doctors of the law of Moses taught them; the commandments in the teachings of Jesus are inextricably linked to the wisdom that the Holy Spirit grants.
And this is so because the prophet Moses received the commandments so that the Israelites could live in harmony with each other and with the creator of all things and thus inherit the land, Canaan. But the enemies of Jesus, on the other hand, used the law as an excuse to oppress the simple and ordinary people with heavy burdens, and the divine teacher knew this fact. And in the face of this problem Jesus with his preaching and signs intended to change things because oppression and deception are not pleasing to God.
What Jesus essentially explained is the continuation of a few older teachings: "Do not take revenge on others or continue to hate them, but love your neighbors as you love yourself" Leviticus 19:18, "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" Deuteronomy 6:5.
For Jesus, unlike his enemies, to reach this love expressed in the old law, men must accept the free grace in his name through the path of righteousness, following the example of the Good Samaritan. This is why Jesus, when he met a scribe, when he was talking about these two commandments with this doctor of the law, this teacher reflected with wisdom: "It is more important to obey these two commandments than to offer on the altar animals and other sacrifices to God" Mark 12:33.
With Jesus, a new covenant was to be established not on the rigid application of the law but on the true goal of man, the excellence, because as Jesus taught: "Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect" Matthew 5:48.
