Experience with cast aluminum

I built a furnace, put some cans and pieces of aluminum in an improvised crucible. after the molten aluminum, poured into a sandbox mold.
I finished it with wet sandpaper weighing 300 to 600 and then with polishing paste.

For a first experience I was satisfied, but the mess it caused made me give up on the next attempt, at least not so soon.
