Hey guys,
So i always strive to post original content on here, but when i come across amazing stuff like this I just have to share it.
This video comes from a TEDtalk by Susan Pinker. Susan is a developmental psychologist and has done other TED talks in the past.
She is a very respected author, academic and researcher and has made appearances on major media outlets as well as authored her own book.
I this video she reveals some in depth research that was conducted over a period of 7 years by tens of thousands of individuals to determine the highest factors that prevented early death.
Surprisingly, Overweight, Air Quality and exercise were not even in the top 5 reasons. The top 2 predictors were surprisingly related to social relationship and interactions. The results of this study revealed that our emotional and social being is more important than all other physical factors.
I just find this so amazingly interesting because our generation is becoming less and less sociable. Perhaps we will be one of the most unhealthy generations due to our lack of social interactions.
