OCD DAILY - Issue #242
Welcome to the 242nd issue of @OCD Daily!
Issue #242 highlights content from 10 Steemit Content Creators! The OCD team continues its search throughout Steemit to find you the undervalued gems, as provided by relatively new users.
Today our curators found you 10 new pieces of original content! We strive to find works that are provided by newer Steemit users, that may not have the audience which their quality content deserves. @OCD strives to help provide that audience, and intends to showcase Steemit users who put in the extra effort to create creative, original content.
A curator will FIND a piece of work (typically from newer users). Within 24 hours that piece has been submitted from the curator to the @OCD team, votes are tallied, and the pieces with the most votes are placed into the compilation.
We encourage you to visit these blogs and to show these great Steemians your support and encouragement.
All of the content as chosen by our curators is undervalued, but there is always one piece that rises to the top. That piece is seen as universally appreciated and valued making it OCD’s Top Nomination of the Day.
Our first nomination comes from @qberryfarms and shows the build process of a dream greenhouse that turns into a veritable mansion for plants! The finished product is gorgeous, but the story of what inspired this greenhouse and the green thumb is not to be missed.
Next up is a post by @zelyn about how an introverted girl created an inner world where art was the form of expression, only to lose confidence as she grew older. And then, art became more a vocation than a form of expression, leading to the study of 3D animation. But this is just the first part of her story!
A comic originally penned for a contest is our next nomination, by @looserwin. The post includes the finished comic as well as the pencil drafts and tells the story of a wild-haired professor and three kids who stumble on an abandoned UFO. The story gets weird, though, when Professor Ein pushes a button on the UFO console...
What do you do on a slow day at work? Head to the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture! Better yet, you write a post sharing all the cool Marvel superhero stuff you saw! Bonus points for doing it all on 4/20. Don't miss this virtual tour by @dfinney through comicbook land!
These Steemit leather products crafted by @armadilloman allow you to trade your virtual coin for something you can hold in your hand! Products include really cool Steemit wallets, belts, and key fobs, but the coolest has got to be the Steempunk “Frankenhat.”
Please say hello to a new Steemian, Monika with the anagram moniker @konami8. She grew up in Croatia but in her 24 years, she has lived in a total of four countries! She's lived in the country, caring for animals, and on top of a mountain in Austria working at a resort. Let's make Monika feel welcome in Steemit land!
For his LUMOC mountaineering club, @lakawero focuses on camp gear and equipment. In this DIY post, he shows us how to make our own alcohol camp stove out of a soda can! Well, two soda cans to be precise. It's both ingenious and frugal!
A mushroom began a spiritual life quest for @jakeybrown and that quest has led him to the writing life and to Steemit. This post is also a writing essy for sndbox, in which he details how his life has narrowed away from friends, and into a more focused family life in which writing can take the place of social conversation. We wish him luck with his sndbox and spiritual quest!
Next up is an architect, @maxiemoses-eu, who set some challenge goals for himself as a writer. But when the pressures of work prevented writing consistently, he enrolled in a writing course. And then he found Steemit! Don't miss his sndbox quest piece on the need for any writer to find an engaging audience.
Last up for today, come join @samanthajbarnes as she shows us around Belogradchik in western Bulgaria. The old abandoned buildings found on the hike she took with a fellow Steemian are both beautiful and melancholy. Don't miss this walking tour in the Bulgarian countryside.
We hope you were able to take away something different, fresh, and new from these content posts, as provided by the @ocd curators.
