Our Odyssey to emigrate

Our trip starts with a different last minute route.

First part

A few months ago we decided to emigrate from our country Venezuela (we all know the situation that this country is living), our selected country was Argentina, the City of Buenos Aires, but the destination had another route ready for us.

It all started more than 6 months ago when my wife and I decided to move country and among the options were: Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Argentina. The latter offered us a more friendly migration in terms of roles and other factors. We knew Colombia, lived there for a while and even made several business trips for many years to this country, but its complicated process to establish you as an emigrant made it tedious and cumbersome. We also had references from Ecuador and Peru from direct experiences of some relatives and friends, but none of these countries filled the items offered by Argentina, for this reason we decided to emigrate to this country.

We focused on this destination and began to take out the papers required to emigrate, we made the apostille process and prepared everything for the trip, we even asked for an appointment in advance of two months in Argentina to get the DNI, since for this appointment must be months in advance.

One week before leaving the country, we bought the air tickets: Cúcuta-Bogotá, Bogotá-Buenos Aires without return ticket, it was a tedious process because we had to pay in Dollars, transfer from one bank to another and wait, all this in less of 4 days. The travel agency made the reservation when the transfer was made effective in the account of the agency there processed the final tickets, surprise for us the Friday day of the trip to the border of Venezuela was that we had no tickets for Buenos Aires or Bogota since the transfer had not been made effective and we had to wait until Monday.

At this stage we had two options: wait in Colombia to buy other tickets for new travel dates, but for this we had to ask again for an Argentine migration appointment to get the DNI (since the appointment was for that same week, arriving on Monday Argentina on Wednesday we had to present in migration to get our papers) and for the next appointment was for December, three months after arriving in the country, and second option was to try in Colombia to see if you could get the papers, and for years we had tried to get the visa, but none of the options opted for our profile except the visa as an investor.

Arriving in San Cristobal, Venezuela, a trip we made from Valencia to this city by bus, we decided to go to Manizales-Colombia and try to get the papers, since we discarded going to Argentina because of the situation of the DNI appointment. That day we bought air tickets from Cúcuta to Manizales and book a hotel for a week and do the process of the constitution of the company and get the investor visa. Everything is planning and odyssey being with my wife and my two children, a girl of 9 years and the boy of 4 years.

Nuestra Odisea de emigrar

Nuestro viaje empieza con una ruta distinta de última hora.

Primera Parte

Hace unos meses decidimos emigrar de nuestro país Venezuela (todos ya sabemos la situación que vive este país), nuestro país seleccionado era Argentina la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, pero el destino nos tenía preparado otra ruta.

Todo comienza hace más de 6 meses cuando mi esposa y yo decidimos mudarnos de país y entre las opciones estaban: Ecuador, Perú, Colombia y Argentina. Este último nos ofrecía una emigración más amigable en cuanto a papeles y otros factores. Nosotros Conocíamos a Colombia, vivimos un tiempo allí e incluso hacía varios viajes de negocios durante muchos años a este país, pero su complicado proceso para establecerte como emigrante lo hacía engorroso y tedioso. También teníamos referencia de Ecuador y Perú por experiencias directa de algunos familiares y amigos, pero ninguno de estos países llenaba los ítems que nos ofrecía Argentina, por esta razón decidimos emigrar a este país.

Nos enfocamos en dicho destino y comenzamos a sacar los papeles que se requería para emigrar, hicimos el proceso de apostillar y preparamos todo para el viaje, hasta incluso pedimos cita con antelación de dos meses en migración argentina para sacar el DNI, ya que para esta cita debe ser con meses de anticipación.

Faltando una semana de irnos del país compramos los tiquetes aéreos: Cúcuta-Bogotá, Bogotá-Buenos Aires sin tiquete de retorno, fue un proceso tedioso porque teníamos que pagar en Dólares, hacer transferencia de un banco a otro y esperar, todo esto en menos de 4 días. La agencia de viaje nos hizo la reserva cuando la transferencia se hiciera efectiva en la cuenta de la agencia allí procesaban los boletos finales, sorpresa para nosotros el viernes día del viaje hacia la frontera de Venezuela fue que no teníamos pasajes para Buenos aires ni para Bogotá ya que la transferencia no se había hecho efectiva y teníamos que esperar hasta el lunes.

En esta etapa teníamos dos opciones: esperar en Colombia para comprar otros pasajes para nuevas fechas de viaje, pero para esto debíamos volver a pedir cita en migración argentina para sacar el DNI (ya que la cita era para esa misma semana, llegando el lunes a Argentina el miércoles nos tocaba presentar en migración para sacar nuestros papeles) y para la próxima cita era para diciembre, tres meses después de llegar al país, y segunda opción era intentar en Colombia para ver si se podía sacar los papeles, ya desde hace años nosotros habíamos tratado de sacar la visa, pero ninguna de las opciones optaba para nuestro perfil exceptuando la visa como inversionista.

Llegando a San Cristóbal, Venezuela, un viaje que hicimos de Valencia hacia esta ciudad en Bus, allí decidimos irnos a Manizales-Colombia e intentar sacar los papeles, ya que descartamos irnos a Argentina por la situación de la cita para el DNI. Ese día compramos los tiquetes aéreos de Cúcuta a Manizales y reserve un apartaHotel para una semana y hacer el proceso de la constitución de la empresa y sacar la visa de inversionista. Todo está planificación y odisea estando con mi esposa y mis dos hijos, una niña de 9 años y el niño de 4 años.
