Jacob Goes Off Grid Day 2

This is a video from Day 2 of going off-grid. I went 'off grid' five hundred and sixty-four days ago and it has been quite the journey since I got dropped off at this old fallow farm and built (continue to build) all my own infrastructure. I have been video documenting the entire process and in time I hope that I can share more of them publicly. I have not made these videos public but I have been sharing them privately since I started the entire process which I call Jacob Goes Off Grid In The Woods. 'Day 1' is the morning after I arrived at this little place in the mountains in the 'dead of winter' on January thirteenth of two thousand and seventeen with my dogs, my wits, minimal gear and very little hard currency to work with. Slowly I have done my best to breathe life into a very old farm and give it all my best, 'learning as I go', and documenting the process as best I can. In this video I show how I cleaned up the sticks and other debri from the immediate area at my camp. I show how I made a 'chimney' for my fire and also how I patched my tea kettle with some pitch pine. I also show the progress of cleaning up the interior of the shack and talk about my realization that I can potentally build my mini-shelter inside the rear room of the shack. I mention using a leaf blower to clean out the entire building but never actually do it because I never gained access to a leaf blower. It is worth noting that I still think it is a great way to really clean a place up after removing all the larger trash.
