In 2016 my husband and I, along with our 2 young boys, decided we were going to jump off the hampster wheel and escape the prison of city life. We moved out of our apartment, sold or gave away 90% of our belongings, bought an r.v. and put a down payment on a 4.5 acre property of old growth pine in Oregon.
We had talked about doing it for over a year but we had a lot of fear and hesitation. It didn't help that both of our families where pretty much telling us we were stupid for even thinking about it. To make a long story short, we were strong and our hearts told us it was the right thing. And a year later....it WAS the right thing to do! It has not been easy and there have been a thousand obsticals in our way, but I wouldn't change a thing!
I am not a professional photographer by any means. I just love, love, love taking pictures of our journey. And I thought that maybe our story and my pictures might give someone else the courage to do what we've done.
