Faulty - Oil print of a Fake Mate portrait

Hello everyone,

In this journey of me learning the Oil Print Process Ive tried quite a lot of things.

The gelatin mixture ingredient amounts, the negatives themselves and ammonium dichromate mix and of course exposure and inking all varies from one to another. According to a friend, the rooms humidity is a game changer as well.

In this one Ive used 10 grams of food grade gelatin/250 ml of water, 1,5 ml of 6 percent chromium potassium sulfate/250 ml water, maltodextrin to make the print look matte- 5 grams and sugar 5 grams, all for 250 ml of distilled water.

My negative was 47x47 cm in dimensions and I coated an area of 50x50 cm with 250 ml of gelatine mix.

I pour the gelatin onto paper on a levelled table and I put borders for the area I wanna pour- by placing glasses (the ones with blue tape) so that the desired amount of gelatin stays in the right spot.

Today I used 10 ml of 3% ammonium dichromate + 12,5 ml of alcohol.
This if you want to coat evenly is not a good option- alcohol needs to be two times amount of the ammonium dichromate. I should have used 20 ml of alcohol but I felt brave. And so the paper wasnt coated evenly so thats why Im calling this print The Faulty.

Exposure time was 5 mins 15 secs but I guess I need to get that up to 6 mins 15 secs or so.
