So I have decided to start painting environments and I am realizing that this is extremely hard. At first I just started to paint whole pictures(my two recent posts). Of course I was doing really bad and then suddenly I realized what i was doing wrong.
You see when i first started portrait drawings i started with learning the eyes and nose and lips and then the whole face. So, i realized that i can't learn to draw an entire piece all of a sudden. I need to learn to see and draw the basic elements of environment. That is, earth, air, water, fire, plants and everything else that there is. Then i could learn to merge them together in a painting.
Also instead of trying to come up with a picture might not be the best idea. I need to draw some from references then when i am better at that i should try to do some of my own concept.
I started watching 'walid feghali' s paitning tutorials. There are only a few free tutorials and i am gonna have to do with those because i can't afford the paid course.
I started with the rock painting tutorial. the last three are almost the copy of what walid showed in his tutorial and the other four is what i painted.
I think for this week i will stick to only painting rocks and earth stuff. Then i will move on to other things.
I realize that coming up with shapes and colors are not that easy and all my colors look a bit unnatural. I am trying to improve by practicing as much as i can.
Learning to paint rocks will also help me to paint mountains i think.
Here are some of the screenshots while working and single shots of those rocks
