There once was a man with two twin boys of five or six. Worried that the boys had developed extreme personalities — one was a total pessimist, the other a total optimist — so he took them to a psychiatrist.
The psychiatrist said, I know just what to do. I will show the pessimist that the world is not all bad and I will show the optimist that the world is not all good.
He put the pessimist in a room piled high with new toys. Then he put the optimist in a room piled with horse manure. After several minutes he went to check on each one.
He found the pessimist sitting in the middle of the toys wailing and crying. When asked what was wrong, the boy replied,"with all these new toys I just know something bad is going to happen!"
When he checked on the optimist. He found the boy covered in manure, the walls were covered in manure as the boy was frantically flinging manure everywhere. When asked "what are you doing" the boy replied, "with all this shit, there has to be a pony in here somewhere!"
I could never tell this joke as good as the guy I heard it from. maybe you have heard it before.
