Recently in the Olympics of Tokyo 2021 something happened that I do not quite understand, I respect the rules in general, of course, but the truth is that I find it absurd that in times like the ones we live in some rules are so square. I was checking some news and I could see that the athletes of the Norwegian Handball team has been fined, each of them with a fine of 150 Euros, for the simple reason that they were not wearing a bikini but a shorts.
Wow, this seems to me to be something absurd, is it mandatory that they must play in Bikini?, I don't understand in what way this can affect their performance in the game, favoring them in some way, or harming it. Men play in shorts, and nothing happens. I don't mean that men should play in Bikini, obviously, but I mean if they have currently allowed transgender to participate in some sports disciplines, how is it possible that they can fine them for such a reason, I can't get over my astonishment.
I have not found any news that explains the reasons that justify such action of the board of the sports games, but no doubt that many people disagree with such a thing. This transcended, to such an extent that a well known singer, such as Pink, expressed her disagreement with this decision and offered to pay the fine, which totals 1500 Euros, since there are 10 athletes involved.
But despite this, they were able to play and win third place, taking the Bronze Medal in the world competition. What is very true, at least for me, is that there are rules that should be revised, because in my opinion they end up being almost ridiculous. Luckily I can say this kind of things on this platform without much fear of being banned for it.
I would like to know what you think about this event, do you agree with the decision, do you think it can affect the use of shorts or bikini in any way in the game?
