After the cancellation of the qualification rounds due to weather conditions the Ladies Slopestyle competition will proceed straight to the final rounds tomorrow. This unexpected turn of events means that the stakes are high and errors are unaffordable.

Profiles

Anna Gasserr, Austria
Date of Birth 16 Nov 1991
Age: 26

Known for her viral Youtube videos showing her experience with complicated big air tricks, all eyes are on Anna Gasser on D3. If she can land a double cork 1080, the gold could be hers.

Jamie Anderson, United States of America
Date of Birth 13 Sep 1990
Age: 27

In 2004 at age 13 she became the youngest athlete to take part in a Winter X Games. The third of three professional snowboard sisters, Anderson’s reputation in halfpipe and slopestyle competitions has her hotly tipped for PyeongChang success.

Enni Rukajarvi, Finland
Date of Birth 13 May 1990
Age: 27

Hoping to make an impact on both slopestyle and big air events at PyeongChang 2018, Finland’s flag bearer at Sochi 2014 is perhaps the biggest threat to the North American favourites. If she can channel her form that won her a slopestyle gold medal at the 2011 FIS World Championships, she’s in with a chance.

The events at The Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre have been magnificent against the back drop of the stars in the night sky of PyeongChang. Day 3 sees the start of the Ladies' programme.

Profiles

Evelyn Insam
Date of Birth 10 Feb 1994
Age: 24

Her world championship events have not seen her rank high in recent years but an impressive 5th place in Sochi 2014 will stand to Insam’s chances during the first round event. She was part of the first ever mixed team World cup event in 2012, where she and her Italian team mates finished third.

Carina Vogt, Germany
Date of Birth 05 February 1992
Age: 26

The Sochi 2014 gold medalist, who is the first ever female to win a ski jumping gold medal at an Olympic Games, suffered a knee injury in autumn 2017 that prevented her from training fully. Now she is back and hoping to repeat history.

Daniela Irashko-Stolz, Austria
Date of Birth 21 November 1993
Age: 34

She may have taken the silver in Sochi 2014, but once again her eyes are firmly on gold. Between Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018 cartilage damage in her knee impeded the Austrian slightly, but this hasn’t prevented her from achieving many top 10 finishes.
