I watched the Olympic Figure Skating Men's short competition tonight. It heavily focused on a new upcoming USA star by the name of Nathan Chen. In the interviews he was very calm and collect. But out on the ice he was nervous; falling and did not appear smooth.
I have never seen him before but he had moments where I can see his potential. Also he landed the first Quad ever in Olympic competition during this event. In all fairness; this was opening night and a lot of competitors fell as well. It must be tough to throw someone out there and say this is it... all your hard work has led to this moment. I felt bad for the athletes as I watched one after another fall on attempting jumps. They showed a very cool clip of Nathan performing at 10 years old and predicting at that age he would be a competitor in the 2018 Olympics. Hopefully; he got it out of his system and show that he is a real star in the upcoming competitions; lets see him get GOLD.
This is one of his better moments; landing 5 quads during a competition last year.
