Whilst browsing the Omisego website looking for a way to buy tokens the other day i found this link
which after filling out the information leads you to this
https://omise-go.com/airdrop/sign.php (P.s notice the php extension is that Phillippines ?) i did nt at the time ..
Then i made the fatal error of putting in my key luckily it wasnt for very much as it was only a test from MyEther wallet
and yes i know the golden rule you never give your keys to anyone , I was rushing to get out the door but keen to get the tokens and well, yes i made an error . This i have learned the hard way , thank you .
So when i got back later that day i soon noticed that the funds were taken out pretty quickly so i started to investigate where they had gone . So i checked out the address and to my shock there have been a lot of deposits to the same address and for some large amounts .
Now i told the guys on the Omise forum and have sent Omise go an email also to tell them that some how it looks like there site has been hacked . And informed Etherscan of the address to be be put on the watch list , and it appears things have gone quiet as there have been no more deposits for at least fourteen hours .. But have just seen a post from a guy who lost a 100 ether not sure if its the same scam as the ethers are going to a different address. And then bizarrely i get sent the same dodgy link via some one in the Omisego slack forum . (who has since deleted their profile )
So now i finally get to my questions . Is there no way of finding the culprits based on the addresses that the Ether ends up at ?
How trust worthy is Omise go and their plan if people can infiltrate there website so easy ?
Can this major drawback of the block chain technology be got around in the future ??
Well as you have probably gathered i am a total noob to all this so please forgive me if these seem like silly questions ..
regards
jus
