Invest in Camera Lenses not Camera Bodies

Camera technology is always advancing and people always want to have the latest and greatest when it comes to a new camera. What people don't think enough about is the lenses that they are using. The lens you put on your camera is the most important part of both photography and video. Its not the camera sensor that makes the photo its the glass inside your lens!

I don't know much about photography actually but I used to think the camera was the best part I actually do not know this before brilliant video my friend I think I need to develop a skill in photography myself

Go for it. There's always something new to learn and the more you know the better you'll get.

very underrated and most useful tip. today almost any camera is good for video and pics, but lenses make a huge difference.

Thanks. Glad you learned something from this. That's one of the reasons I love making videos is to share my knowledge with fellow creators and those who want to learn.

I did not watch the full video yet but I must agree with the title. You should buy a used camera body and get only what you need based on your needs (photo/video, 4k, slo-mo, low light, brand preference).

Been using, the GH4, which is a little outdated but there are some really great MFT prime lenses out there.

When possible I always buy used gear. Works the same and often much cheaper. The only time you should upgrade the camera is when your current one no longer works or no longer meets your needs. Other than that invest in the lens 100% of the time.

I totally agree with you. Lenses play an important role in making awesome photos.

The lens you choose plays a bigger role than the sensor in the camera that's for sure!

Useful tips! Makes sense why some photographers get new bodies, but keep their lenses. I have a question, are all lenses universal? Like do they all fit on different models, or have all companies closed themselves in their respective ecosystems.

NO lenses are not universal. Different camera makers make lenses for their own systems. Canon glass is designed to only got Canon cameras. The same for Nikon and Sony and all the others. There are adapters you can buy to use different glass on other cameras so Canon lenses on Sony cameras but they aren't always very good and they are very expressive.

Then you get into the issue with sensor size and different lenses being designed for differ formats so micro 4/3, aps-c and full frame.

It can get very complicated but usually it's not too bad to figure it all out.
