In Denmark McDonald s ads refer to Counter Strike Global Offensive

It seems that McDonald's has decided to join the success of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in Denmark, with a brand new advertising campaign.

Initially posted on Reddit by a user named "kakipls", the ads were placed in the center of Field, the closest metro station to the Royal Arena, which will host the CS:GO BLAST Pro Series tournament starting Friday, November 2.

There are two boards outside the arena, one of them refers to the theft of a fry as a "stolen kill", a Happy Meal as an order for a "noob" and a McDonald's straw-free cup as a "no scope".

The other set of billboards classifies the restaurant's popular chicken nuggets as utilitarian items, while the legendary cheeseburger is considered an "economical" purchase, a term used when CS:GO players do not have much money to use to buy weapons and equipment.

McDonald's thinks that the "Mac Junior" meal is a "full buy", another Counter-Strike sentence describing a game in which players have so much money that they can buy all the items they want. The table ends with "GL HF", which simply means "Good luck, have fun".

These ads from the fast food chain are the latest example from Denmark, behind e-sport, which is attracting increasing interest, thanks to Astralis, which dominated last year. The Danish president even got involved in the media hype by tweeting his congratulations to the team on its victory at FACEIT London Major.

The Danes will see their team in action as Astralis is expected to compete on their national territory during the BLAST Pro Series.
