But a week ago, the price of domestic and imported Piyas was between Tk 38 and 45 and Tk 30-35 respectively. For the last one month, the price of this essential item is increasing. According to TCB, Piyas rose 33.77 percent in the last one month. The price of garlic has also increased by 10 paisa Domestic garlic 60 to 80 taka and imported garlic is sold at Tk 100-120.
Treasurer of Shyambazar Merchant Association Mohsin Uddin (Bulu) Mia said, the main reason for the rise in Piyaz's price is the bitter weather.
