Introduction

Welcome to a foray into the ontological approach to reality. Which – in this only tasting sample of a few dozen categories – will be specified in the confines of the economic being. The economics is directly related to our everyday experience and as such may serve as an intriguing example which is not simply illustrative of the method but is advancing on a more pragmatic ticket.
Yet before that, three preliminary posts are in order: firstly, the general characteristics of the ontology as such will be stated; then, secondly, it has to be noted how the understanding reviles the ontological; thirdly, it should be accounted in what way the medium of language is set to facilitate the communication and, often, to impend it. Notably, the ontological realities of understanding and language deserve no shorter explorations than the economy that is upheld here, and they assuredly shell get their due attention in the appropriate format on analogous occasion.
Every economic concept will be briefly defined by the means of other notions previously reviled, which referential status will be marked in italic text. And similarly the immediate conceptual effects of the notion at a point will be indicated in the same way. Selections of early and influential thinkers with their representative texts and preferred language use will form the end of each post – under the heading Historical Backdrop – thus setting the historical context when apprehending the conceptual material under consideration. Respecting the erudition of the readers, no commentaries are given with the references; respecting the authority of the thinkers, no criticism of their particular points of view and systems is exercised either.
The general ontological inquiry delineates all basic ontic realities, so any special ontological interest shell commence not from the pure being but from its own generic being in existence. In the economic case, it is the appreciation of goods, which is given as need. For the end, it will be establish by the full development of the currency exchange mechanism, where the international trade returns to the relationships already known from the previously explicated realm of internal trade. Inevitably, the exposition often is going to touch on other ontological purviews – as the social, the psychic, and even the biological – covering in a specific way all of them. And yet the economic understanding can be considered sufficiently consistent in itself to deserve coherent and self-contained review on its own.
