2nd post on steemit... exciting times.
I've been using BitShares since November and closely monitoring the OpenLedger exchange. What I have noticed is that the spread of prices for each market is huge! People are posting orders at outlandish prices and leaving them resting, I guess in a hope the market turns in their favour and they get a trade at the price they want. This reduces the amount of trades actually happening, as people are waiting for the markets to swing.
I have seen this in the past on commodity exchanges, one way around it has been to stop Good Till Cancel, and implement Good Till Close (or other types) orders. Meaning all orders resting at the close of the market are cancelled. This forces traders to place orders at more realistic prices, increasing the volume of trades.
I would love to see OpenLedger do this. Can anyone point me in the direction of an exchange which currently does??
