I'm personally not a musician, and that's probably why I was not aware of Open Mic, however this sounds like one of the best ways to retain talent on Steem, while also cultivating a beautiful community.

Last night I spent new years with a drummer friend who recently left for college. He came back and spoke to me last night about his first semester. His favourite part? The 'Rock and Roll Club' at school. He's a drummer who didn't truly get to share his passion with others, however now that he's finally found a group of like-minded individuals, he's loving the culture so much. Jamming with friends, learning music together, and fostering that community was very important.

From the sounds of it, this project is succeeding in that same way, and it sounds exciting! I'm new here and have not really delved into Witnesses yet, but I'll get to learning this and cast my vote :)
