Happy Whiskey Wednesday fellow steemians: Kicking it off with an original song performed by my amazing brother, and if you're in the North, a taste of Spring!

in openmic •  8 years ago  (edited)

If this is the first time you've stumbled upon my Happy Whiskey Wednesday post, below is the backstory :)

Once upon a time a group of friends of mine on social media (when facebook was in its fledgling stages) started the tradition of Happy Whiskey Wednesday as a way of bringing some fun to the middle of a work week. It was our own cyber happy hour...s.
We would post kick-ass, upbeat songs to one another; we even turned it into a contest at one point as to who could bring the most fun and excitement to the party. Often the hilarity would go on into the night, with dozens of ridiculous pictures (and comments of course) added to the mix. So if you feel the urge please join in the fun, either by making your own post or posting down below in the comments with videos or anecdotes, or really anything that floats your boats!!

Now I'm a little fish in this ever-growing pond, so I know it will take some time to catch on, but I'm going to keep trying it out, see where it goes!

I missed this post last week, actually my brother started looking into the platform and I was hoping the next video you saw of him would be his introduction (if you read this bro, that's not me pressuring you, haha, just stating a fact ;). He recently had his first child, a beautiful baby girl, and that in addition to being an RN in post-op at a city hospital makes for a very busy guy, but he will be joining us sooner than later (I have faith).

I chose this song for several reasons- It was the first one of his originals I posted when I was brand new here so it didn't get a lot of exposure- though that version was performed in his living room...bringing me to my next reason: The setting for it is at the Buttonwood Grove winery located on beautiful Cayuga Lake at the end of this past summer, and watching it makes me feel like Spring is in my grasp; and lastly I found the lyrics fitting for this particular era on steemit.

So Happy Whiskey Wednesday steemit community, I present you with Make A Stand:

Thank you sweet friend @jlufer!

Your brother is soooo good! Is he selling any of his tracks on PeerHub?

Hush now! I'm trying to read Reborn now. Your story is the ONLY thing I have up in tabs right now. It's my bedtime story. I mean it! LOL

Awww thanks you lovely, beautiful woman you! Here is his website-- https://www.ediseleyexperience.com/
Not sure if you saw my post on comments, but I credited you with reigniting my passion for the series, I am fully entrenched in the third book now!
Also my younger step-son Josh made an account ;) He hasn't posted yet, he's just snooping around for now, he plans on doing an introductory vlog when he's ready...you will love him, he's 24, socially gifted, gorgeous and gay, lol. He's in the middle, the other boy is his husband...can't wait for you to meet him!

YAY! More people on Steemit! And you're all GOREGOUS. Look at those smiles! Please make sure I get their usernames so I can add them. Are you on Twitter? It's the best place to message me if you ever need to get in touch.

Oh that isn't me in the picture, that's his best friend Robin Lol. There are pictures of me, they're in the Christmas post ;) Actually the one of me and my daughter is from his wedding. I am making a twitter...haha, I've been saying that for weeks, but my daughter is getting pushy. I'll put that on my agenda and get back to you with the name!
Josh's account is jmcla92. He's got his avatar, but that's it so far, he works crazy hours but assured me that his next day off he's doing his introduction.

YAY! :)

I've been to busy to post or even read much for the past couple of weeks. But when I stop for my lunchtime smoothie at about 3pm, I look to see if there's a chapter of either of @dreemit's stories to read while slurping.

I've been a bad Steemer with the posting and commenting. Honestly, I can't believe I'm still up. I just finished Chapter 4 and my goal is to get caught up before I close down the laptop. @dreemit and @johnjgeddes are two of my ultimate favorite reads.

Oh yes, @johnjgeddes - I must have a zillion of his to catch up on, that will be a treat!

thank you, @kiwideb ...so kind

Not kind, John, just truthful ;-)

thanks mere - but you really do need your sleep - when you're working that's what weekends are for :)

Awesome song. Love the intro. I like this version more than the home recording one

Hey there! Thanks, how have you been? I'm glad you stopped by, reminds me to come by your blog ;)

pretty good! I think it is time for your brother to come aboard the Steem Train!

Last night was a happy no-Whiskey Wednesday, as choir started again. We learnt three new songs, including this one:

(Needless to say this isn't us... yet...)

Awesome! Are you going to post a video of it?

We're not allowed to publish recordings of rehearsals. But we'll probably perform it sometime and with luck someone will record it.

I hope so, I would love to see it!

Another great song from your brother! I'm sure he would do great here on Steemit. If all the well wishes from the comments section doesn't encourage him to sign up I don't know what will.
