OPEN MIC WEEK 76 - original song 'Out of Touch'

in openmic •  7 years ago

On to my second submission to Steemit's open mic! This song is off of my first album. I've never gotten tired of playing it, it's of the few songs that came out immediately feeling "right". This song means a lot to me, I hope you all enjoy it.

Dude I am happy to discover you. Your voice reminds me Tim Smith from midlake(the courage of others album) and a little bit eddie vedder style. Keep going it.

Thanks man! I don't know midlake , but I'm a long time fan of Pearl Jam and Eddie vedder. I appreciate the encouragement!

Hold on, let me grab a blanket and a piping hot cup of cocoa. This song was like a slow moving arrow straight to my heart. I saw it from a distance and not once did I attempt to dodge it. I was so entranced with the strum pluck that I needed to focus to the lyrics just to completely comprehend it. Your voice is just so soothing, brother. I feel like if I ever need someone to sing my autobiography, I won't have any other choice than you.

The song itself is so melancholic. I think it goes hand-in-hand with 29 in terms of the story they tell. I'm over the moon knowing that this song placed in Open Mic!! Well deserved, brother!

I'm glad you got to hear it, and I am grateful for your rave review! This is another one of my early songs, maybe like 6th one written for the first album. I remember stopping at Linnet's house to show it to her and Howie because I was excited. I also remember feeling super emotional and teary eyed when I finished playing it for them.
I'm glad it placed too!

I never get tired of hearing it! The more I play the song, the better it gets!

Nice, dude. Liked it so much. Watch from @passion-ground's Top 5 post. Congrats.

Great job I had to go back so I could figure out when you grabbed the pick... too cool man..... that's a wonderful song. ;9)

The old hidden pick trick! Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it

One of my all time favorites, not just of your songs, but of any song ever! And it appears I'm far from the only one to feel that way, so awesome my brother!

I'm very happy to see such a positive response! I love you!

Thanks. I listened to this while having a hot bath and I thought Stan Rogers had come back to life and was writing amazing, new songs in my bathroom.

That was truly great and got you a new fan.

Haha, nope, didn't mean to get your hopes up, just another folky baritone singer in his young thirties. Thanks for the compliment, I can use all the fans I can get!!!

We were too late to upvote the post, so your comment is getting the upvote in its place

Thank you!

That was really lovely mate

Thank you!

Good one, Ed - you've done it again.

Glad you enjoyed it! I got plenty more, thanks for continuing to listen!

@julfer, you have been really uplifting from beginning. I'm
Very grateful for your kind feedback. I don't know much about dtube live. What's the advantage of live feed? Do you mean doing it for openmic or is it for something else?

You have a wonderful voice, and guitar playing!

Thanks! Glad you could listen!

Really nice one bro. I love the sound and shape of your voice, it has a nice rounded quaity, I don't knowif thaat makes sense. Anyway, blinding song!!

I'm very happy you enjoyed it, and my voice -well, unless round voice means it sucks, haha!
Thank you very much for taking time to listen and the compliment - especially a new one.

The rounded quality is hard to define in words, but Jolie Holland has that rounded quality by the bucket full in her singing, especially with the Be Good Tanyas, a wet sound, rather than dry and raspy, a soft emphasis on the consonants particularly at the end of words, but more than that. Anyway mate you have a unique, unassuming yet compelling voice. Looking forward to more from you. 😎

In fact I'd better hit the follow button 😉

Thank you for your beautiful and encouraging words. Hope you continue to enjoy what you hear!

Thank you! I gave it a listen, very nice.

Sweet sweet song. Great sound too. I'm gonna seek out your album. Is it on Spotify?

Thank you again! Yup, sure is! Under Ed Iseley. New album will be on in May!

This is solid, Ed! Loved it, man!

So glad you enjoyed it, thanks! And thank you for taking the time to post, I know you have a lot of videos to go through.

Thanks for listening! Really glad you enjoyed it!

You have a beautiful voice with a kind of vintage vibe going there, and I say as a big compliment, the magic of "voices of more honest times" :) beautiful, good luck with your entry.

Thank you!

Nice one.
