This is beautiful @lillywilton , I heard this one first on the radio show and had to come here to give it a second listen ( and third ..and... ) . I'm not the biggest ukelele fan BUT it worked perfectly for this song , I can't imagine it better accompanied with another instrument , it adds a little touch of ''innocence'' that I like as a contrast to your lyrics .

" I eat poison now for breakfast.
But sometimes bagels suit me, too.
I try to put it down, then I hear you coming round...
And poison seems to soothe. "

I love the language simplicity in general but there is a little ''extra bite'' along those lines... love it .

Also, the harmony you proposed here gives it a little bit of an old school vibe , some harmony that might have been used around the 60s , those little chord movements , I believe those could have been picked up from older soundtracks , along the lines of ''When you wish upon a star'' or ''Someday my Prince will come''. ;) I'm a fan of those tunes btw .

Beautiful, Lilly.

Your lovely voice is well-suited to the ukulele. I also appreciate the simplicity of the lyrics – they convey a sentiment I'm sure everyone who's ever loved and lost can relate to, in uncomplicated, easy to listen to phrasing.

We can never have too many songs for the broken-hearted.

Oh my, this absolutely blew me away. Your voice, your pitch and that uke sound - such simple chords, such a simple melody perfectly executed, and that darkness in the lyrics. So bitter sweet. I played it in the background as I chatted to a friend on Discord and loved what I heard so much that I thought I'd better hit replay and listen to the lyrics. It's left me feeling ... um... moved, yeah, that's how to put it. It reminds me a little of what The Beautiful South do with their cheery tunes and dark words. Listen to I'll Sail this Ship Alone - that's a good comparison with how your song made me feel.

I wouldn't change a thing with this song. It's perfect. Top 10 for sure.

One great thing about music is that we can all make our own interpretations, but it’s nice to know about the inspiration behind the song. This song made me feel some pretty heavy nostalgia. Thats pretty awesome i think since I've never heard it before, but it really brought back some memories. Iike the kind that aren't really good memories but you cherish them anyway because theyre all you have left of someone that was special to you even though the relationship was totally fucked up and you hope that theyre ok but you have to keep your distance for both of your sake.
Man, phew.

Great vocal dexterity on this 1. At first i thought it was going to be a sort of kids song...(it seems like u probably have a good voice for that style too lol) and as i got deeper, well it became a lot more than that, for me at least.
