Steemit Open Mic Week 93 - De Colores (Spanish traditional)

in openmic •  6 years ago

Today I learned that DLive and Open Mic don't play well together, so this is a repost of the same video from the last post in a format that is a valid OM entry. Sorry to my autovoters, but all author rewards from both posts will go to my bonus prizes, so at least you're supporting a good cause.

My entry for Open Mic this week is also my entry for @silentscreamer's foreign music competition where we are to sing in a language we don't speak. I once had four years of Spanish instruction but that was in the twentieth century so it probably doesn't count anymore.

I love this song, of course. Is there anybody who doesn't love this song? Honestly curious. I'm one of about three people in the world who despise Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" so if you are, I can identify, but "De Colores" seems like it's even more universal.

All author rewards from this post will go to awarding unofficial bonus prizes for original songs in Open Mic.

Thank you for your entry. I dont have a nice banner like @luzcypher but you get a smiley. 😁
Why do you think this wont work for openmic?
You added the first tag and you added the youtube video.

This one's fine but this is the second post. This is the one from dLive.

You should be rewarded for this music.well done bro

look at you, perty nice my friend, perty nice

Does this mean you're gonna need to open up your special Open-Mic shout-outs to the Spanish community? Ha-ha jajajajaja...
Nice TC!

Just cause I can sing it doesn't mean I can understand it. I'm ok with performing with a lot of practice and repetition, but listening?

Jk, TC... You know what though, I too cannot understand the words (need G-translate for that) but when I listen, even though I can't understand it, I can certainly feel it. :-)

I seem to have a more analytical and less emotional response to music than the average music lover, based on how I've heard other people describing their experiences. I still have strong emotional reactions from time to time, but if I judged on it my prizes would end up being "I give money to @paintingangels every week."

Awwww Tim you are just the sweeeeeeetest ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ha-ha... Can't say that I would blame you! :-)

Hey, your spanish in this video isn't that bad, it's decent actually. Good interpretation

@tcpolymath it's nice to hear some good music from you.. nice video
